Over the centuries, science and technology have played a vital role in the development in the civilization. The world’s most progressive nations are those which were first able to harness science in their development needs. So, if the Philippines is to be included in this category in nations, the Filipino people must recognize the urgency of maximizing research to push forward scientific frontiers toward the achievement of their desired goals.
Modern science has not only improved the quality of modern living but has also greatly contributed to the evolution of human values -man’s scientific attitude and faith in his capabilities to master the forces around him, rather than a reliance on superstitions, magic and faith. This scientific value syndrome is a new dimension in Filipino values that they need to encourage.
Towards this end, the role of the youth will by no means be small -for on the skills and knowledge they acquire today will depend the progress of their industry in the years to come.
